Palworld Breeding Calculator

Updated May 29, 2026 By Jehan Wadia
Breed Two Pals
Approximation notice: Results use the community formula floor((RankA + RankB) / 2) matched to the nearest breeding rank. This closely approximates in-game behaviour but may not match every exact in-game combination. Some Pals share the same breeding rank, so ties are broken by preferring the lower (rarer) rank number — multiple valid answers may exist for those pairs.

Introduction

This Palworld Breeding Calculator helps you find out what baby Pal you get when you breed two Pals. Just pick two parents, and the tool shows you the offspring right away. It's a fast way to plan your breeding before you start.

You can do more than just breed two Pals. The Breeding Chain tool maps out the steps to go from one Pal to another. The Combination Lookup shows you which parent pairs make the Pal you want. And the Pal Dex lets you browse every Pal, see its element, rarity, and breeding rank.

The results use the popular community formula based on breeding ranks. This gives you a close match to the game, but some pairs may have more than one answer. Use this calculator to save time, breed smarter, and build the team you want in Palworld. How to use our Palworld Breeding Calculator

Pick your Pals in the search boxes and the calculator shows you the baby Pal, breeding paths, or parent pairs you need.

Breed Two Pals tab: Search and pick Parent A and Parent B, then click Calculate to see the offspring Pal you will get.

Breeding Chain tab: Choose a Starting Pal and a Target Pal, then click Calculate Path to see each step needed to breed your way there.

Include target as parent box: Check this box to let the target Pal be used as a parent in the chain, which can find more breeding routes.

Combination Lookup tab: Search for the offspring Pal you want, then click Find Combinations to see every parent pair that makes it. The math behind this works much like our Combination Calculator.

Pal Dex tab: Type a name, or pick an element or rarity, to filter the full list of Pals and their breeding ranks.

Palworld Breeding: How It Works

In Palworld, breeding lets you mix two Pals to make a new Pal. You put a male Pal and a female Pal in a Breeding Farm, give them a Cake, and they make an egg. When the egg hatches, you get a baby Pal. The baby is not always the same as its parents. This is how you can get rare and strong Pals without catching them in the wild.

Why Breeding Is Useful

Breeding is one of the best ways to build a strong team. You can make Pals that are hard to find or take a long time to catch. You can also pass down good traits, like faster work speed or more attack power. This helps your Pals do better in fights and at your base. How Pals Are Picked

Each Pal has a hidden breeding rank. When you mix two Pals, the game uses both ranks to pick the baby. A common way to guess the result is to add the two ranks, divide by two, and find the closest Pal to that number. This tool uses that same idea to show you what baby you might get. The step of adding two numbers and dividing by two is just like finding a mean with our Average Calculator.

Breeding Chains

Sometimes you cannot get the Pal you want in just one step. You may need to breed a Pal, then breed that new Pal again, and keep going. This is called a breeding chain. Planning a chain ahead of time saves you a lot of time and Cakes.

Good to Know

Both Pals must be opposite genders to breed. Higher rank Pals are often rarer and stronger. Some Pals share the same rank, so more than one mix can give the same baby. Use this tool to plan your breeds, find the best parent pairs, and reach the Pal you want faster. To work out the chance of getting a rare result, our Odds Calculator and probability tools can help.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a male and female Pal to breed?

Yes. In Palworld, you need one male Pal and one female Pal to breed. They must be opposite genders. This calculator only shows the baby Pal, so it does not check gender for you. Make sure your two Pals can pair up in the game.

What is a breeding rank?

A breeding rank is a hidden number for each Pal. The game uses it to pick the baby when you breed two Pals. Lower rank numbers often mean rarer and stronger Pals. You can see every Pal's rank in the Pal Dex tab.

Why do I get a different baby in the game?

This tool uses a community formula, not the exact game table. It adds both ranks and divides by two to find the closest Pal. Some Pals share the same rank, so the real game may give another answer. The result is close but not always perfect.

Does the order of parents matter?

No. Parent A and Parent B can be swapped and you get the same baby. The formula adds both ranks together, so order does not change the math. You can use the swap button to switch them if you like.

What does the Breeding Chain tool do?

It maps the steps to go from one Pal to another. Sometimes you cannot get the Pal you want in one breed. The chain tool shows each breed you need, step by step. This saves you time and Cakes.

What does the 'Include target as parent' box do?

Checking this box lets the target Pal be used as a parent in the chain. This can open up more breeding routes you may have missed. Try it if no path is found at first.

Can two Pals breed into a rarer Pal than both parents?

Yes. Breeding can give you a Pal that is rarer than both parents. This is one big reason breeding is useful. Use the Combination Lookup tab to find which pairs make the rare Pal you want.

Why does my offspring search show no combinations?

Some Pals cannot be made by breeding two parents. These are often base Pals you catch in the wild. If the lookup shows nothing, you likely need to find that Pal in the game instead.

Can I breed two of the same Pal?

Yes. You can pick the same Pal for both parents. The result is usually the same Pal again. This is a good way to pass down strong traits to the next baby.

Is this calculator free to use?

Yes. This Palworld Breeding Calculator is free and works in your browser. You do not need to sign up or download anything. Just pick your Pals and get your answer right away.

Why do some Pals have the same breeding rank?

A few Pals share the same rank in the data. This means more than one mix can give the same baby. When ranks tie, the tool picks the lower rank number. Your real game result may still vary.

How many parent combinations can make one Pal?

It depends on the Pal. Some have just a few pairs, while others have many. The Combination Lookup tab shows the full count and lists every pair. Pick the one with Pals you already own.
