Grams to Cups: What You Need to Know

Grams measure weight. Cups measure volume (how much space something takes up). They are not the same thing, so there is no single number that turns grams into cups for every food. The answer changes with each ingredient.

Why Density Matters

The link between grams and cups is density, meaning how heavy something is for its size. Heavy, packed foods like honey give you fewer cups per gram. Light, airy foods like cocoa powder give you more. That is why 100 grams of flour and 100 grams of sugar do not fill the same cup line.
