    Introduction

    This WoW Talent Calculator lets you plan your talent build for all nine classic World of Warcraft classes: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, and Druid. Pick a class, set your level, and click talents to spend points in the three talent trees.

    You get 1 talent point per level starting at level 10, so a level 60 character has 51 points. The calculator tracks every point for you. It locks talents you can't take yet, shows the points needed to open the next tier, and marks talents that need another talent first.

    Hover over any talent to see what it does at its current rank and the next rank. The tool shows your build signature (like 31/20/0), names your spec, and gives a step-by-step breakdown of the math. You can also load a suggested build to start fast, then change it however you like. Every build gets a short code you can save or share.     How to use our WoW Talent Calculator

    Pick your class, set your level, and click talents to spend points. The calculator shows your points spent, points left, your build code, and your detected spec with a full tree breakdown.

    Select Class: Click one of the nine class buttons at the top. This loads that class's three talent trees. Changing class clears all your points.

    Character Level: Type your level from 10 to 60. Your talent points equal your level minus 9, so level 60 gives you 51 points.

    Quick-Load Suggested Build: Choose a ready-made build from the drop-down and click Load. You can then change any talent you want.

    Build Code: This box fills in on its own as you spend points. Copy it to save or share your build. You can also add ?build= plus a code to the page link to load a build.

    Talent Trees: Click a talent to add one point. Right-click it, press Backspace, or click the red minus button to take a point back. Locked talents need more points in that tree or in the talent above them.

    Reset Buttons: Use "Reset" under a tree to clear just that tree, or "Reset All Points" to start over from scratch.

    Calculate: Click Calculate to refresh the step-by-step math, the point chart, and the tree and tier table.

    What Are WoW Talents?

    In World of Warcraft Classic, talents are small upgrades that make your class stronger. Each class has three talent trees, and each tree fits one play style. A Warrior can pick Arms, Fury, or Protection. A Mage can pick Arcane, Fire, or Frost. The talents you choose decide how your character fights, heals, or tanks.

    How Talent Points Work

    You get your first talent point at level 10. After that, you gain one point every level. At level 60 you have 51 points to spend. The math is simple:

    • Points = your level − 9
    • Level 20 → 11 points
    • Level 40 → 31 points
    • Level 60 → 51 points

    Tree Tiers and Rules

    Every tree has rows called tiers. To open the next tier, you must spend 5 points in that same tree. So Tier 2 needs 5 points, Tier 3 needs 10 points, and the last tier (Tier 7) needs 30 points in one tree.

    Other rules to know:

    • Most talents hold 1 to 5 points. Each point is called a rank, and higher ranks give a bigger bonus.
    • Some talents are locked until you first put points in another talent above them. An arrow shows this link.
    • You cannot remove a point if a talent below it still needs it.

    What Makes a Spec

    Players name builds with three numbers, like 31/20/0. That means 31 points in the first tree, 20 in the second, and 0 in the third. Spending 31 points in one tree gets you its best talent, such as Mortal Strike for Warriors or Holy Shock for Paladins. Builds that split points more evenly are called hybrid builds. They are flexible but skip the strongest talents.

    Planning Before You Spend

    In Classic, resetting talents costs gold, and the price goes up each time you do it. That is why players plan builds first. Pick a goal, such as raid damage, tanking, healing, or PvP, then put your points where they help that goal most. Save your build code so you can share it or come back to it later.

    Frequently asked questions

    What do the three numbers in a build code mean?

    The code starts with your class name, then lists the ranks you picked in each tree in order. For example warrior-3030050 shows the points in the Arms tree, tier by tier. You do not need to read it, just copy and paste it.

    Can I switch classes without losing my build?

    No. Picking a new class clears all your points, because every class has different trees. Copy your build code before you switch if you want to come back to it.

    Why does my level change wipe all my points?

    If you lower your level, your build may cost more points than you have. The calculator clears the points and shows a message. Set your level first, then spend points.

    What is the lowest level I can plan a build for?

    Level 10. That is when you get your first talent point. Below level 10 you have no talents, so the tool starts at 10.

    Do I need 31 points in one tree?

    No, but 31 points unlocks the top talent of a tree, like Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst, or Swiftmend. Those talents shape most raid and PvP builds. The red line on the chart marks the 31-point mark.

    What does the number on the left of each tree mean?

    It is the points you must spend in that tree to open that row. Row 1 needs 0, row 2 needs 5, row 3 needs 10, and so on up to 30 for the last row. The number turns gold when the row is open.

    Do points in other trees help unlock tiers?

    No. Only points in the same tree count. Spending 20 points in Fury does nothing for the Arms tiers.

    What does the tooltip show me?

    Hover or Tab onto any talent and the tooltip shows the talent name, your current rank, the tier, what the talent does now, and what the next rank adds. It also warns you if the talent is locked or if you are out of points.

    Why did a suggested build not fill in every talent?

    Your level is too low for all the points. Set your level to 60 for the full 51 points, then load the build again.

    Is this for Classic WoW or the modern game?

    This tool uses the classic 51-point talent trees from original World of Warcraft. Modern retail WoW uses a different talent system.

    How many talents can I max out at level 60?

    It depends on how big each talent is. With 51 points you could max ten 5-point talents and have 1 point left, or mix in 1-point and 3-point talents. The tool tracks it for you.
