How to Use Our Word Count Calculator
Type or paste your text into the editor, adjust any settings you need, and this calculator will show you word counts, character counts, reading times, readability scores, and much more.
Input Mode: Pick "Paste / Type Text" to enter your writing directly, or pick "Manual Count" to type in a word count number by hand.

Manual Word Count: If you chose Manual Count mode, enter the total number of words in the number field. Some features like readability and keywords will be turned off in this mode.

Trim Size: Pick a book size to estimate how many pages your text would fill. Choose from Fiction 5×8, Versatile 5.5×8.5, Non-Fiction 6×9, or Textbook 8.5×11.
Custom Words Per Page: If none of the trim sizes fit your needs, type your own words-per-page number in this field to get a custom page estimate.
