    Introduction

Want to know what date it will be 3 months from today? This calculator gives you the answer in one click. Pick a start date, and it shows the exact day, date, and year — plus the day of the week.

You can also change the numbers. Add or subtract any number of days, weeks, months, or years. Choose "from" for a future date or "before" for a past date. It even works with half units, like 3.5 months. If you prefer working in a single unit, the Month Calculator, Weeks Calculator, and Days From Date Calculator handle those cases directly.

The tool does more than just find the date. It counts total days, business days, and weekend days. It skips US federal holidays so you get real working days — the same logic used in our Business Days Calculator. You also get a live countdown, a mini calendar, and a table showing 1 to 30 months ahead.

This is handy for due dates, loan terms, rent notices, doctor visits, warranty end dates, school plans, and project deadlines. If a month is too short — like moving from January 31 — the tool moves the date to the last day of that month and tells you it did.

How to use our 3 Months From Today Calculator

Fill in a start date and how long you want to count, and the calculator shows you the exact date, the day of the week, a countdown, business days, and a mini calendar.

Start Date: Pick the day you want to count from. It is already set to today, so you can leave it alone if you want 3 months from today.

Number of Months: Type how many time periods to count. It starts at 3. You can use whole numbers like 6 or decimals like 3.5, from 0 up to 999.

Period Unit: Choose days, weeks, months, or years. Months is picked for you. This tells the calculator what the number above means. Need a fixed 90-day window instead of three calendar months? Use the 90 Day Calculator.

Direction: Choose "From" to count forward and get a future date. Choose "Before" to count back and get a past date. For backward counts in days, the Days Ago Calculator and Days Since Calculator are quick alternatives.

Calculate and Reset: Click Calculate to see your result date. Click Reset to go back to 3 months from today.

What Does "3 Months From Today" Mean?

Three months from today means you move the calendar forward by three whole months and keep the same day number. If today is August 23, 2026, then 3 months from today is November 23, 2026. The day of the week almost always changes, because three months is about 90 to 92 days long. You can confirm the weekday with the Day Of The Week Calculator.

    How Month Math Works

Months are not all the same length. They can have 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. So adding months is not the same as adding a fixed number of days. Instead of counting days, you change the month name and keep the day number. To see the gap between two known dates in months, weeks, and days, try the Date Duration Calculator.

Sometimes the day number does not exist in the new month. For example, 3 months from November 30 would be February 30, but February has only 28 or 29 days. When this happens, the date rolls back to the last day of that month, so you get February 28 (or February 29 in a leap year). This is called a month-end adjustment, and banks, courts, and contracts use the same rule.

    Calendar Days vs. Business Days

A three-month span holds about 90 to 92 calendar days. That is roughly 13 weeks — see the Weeks To Months Calculator for that conversion — or about 64 business days after you take out Saturdays and Sundays. If you also skip United States federal holidays, the number of true working days drops a little more. Business days matter for work deadlines, shipping times, and legal notices, so it helps to know both counts. For staffing and payroll planning across the same span, the Work Hours Calculator and PTO Accrual Calculator pair well with this tool.

Why People Count 3 Months Ahead

A three-month gap is one of the most common dates people need. It shows up in:

    3 Months and Quarters

Three months equals one quarter of a year. Businesses split the year into four quarters, each three months long. That is why "3 months from now" and "next quarter" often point to the same time frame. For longer horizons, the Year Calculator and general Date Calculator extend the same math.

    Counting Backward

The same rule works in reverse. Three months before today means you move back three months and keep the day number, using the same month-end fix when needed. People use this to find past due dates, check when a payment started, or work out a deadline they already passed. Related tools include the Age Calculator for elapsed time from a birth date and the Date Add Calculator for quick forward or backward shifts.

    Frequently asked questions

What date is 3 months from today?

Today is August 23, 2026, so 3 months from today is November 23, 2026. That is a Monday. Change the start date in the box to count from any other day.

Does the calculator count the start date as day one?

No. The start date is day zero. Counting begins the next day. So the day count and business day count skip the start date and include the result date.

Why is 3 months not always 90 days?

Months have 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. A three-month span can be 89 to 92 days long. The exact number depends on which months you cross. The tool shows the true day count for your dates.

How does the tool handle a decimal like 3.5 months?

It adds the whole part first (3 months), then turns the leftover into days. Half a month uses the real length of the landing month. So 3.5 months lands about 15 days later, not always 15 days exactly.

What happens if I start on January 31?

Three months later would be April 31, which does not exist. The tool moves the date to April 30, the last day of that month, and shows a yellow note telling you it did.

What if I start on February 29?

It works fine. If the target year has no February 29, the date rolls back to February 28. For other months, the day number stays the same.

What is the ISO format shown in the result?

ISO 8601 writes dates as year-month-day, like 2026-11-23. Computers, forms, and spreadsheets read this format best. You can copy it straight into a database or date field.

How does the countdown timer work?

It counts down to midnight at the start of your result date, using your device's clock and time zone. If the date already passed, the heading flips and it shows time since that day.

Which holidays does the business day count remove?

The 11 US federal holidays. If a holiday lands on a Saturday or Sunday, the tool uses the observed weekday instead, the same way federal offices do. It lists every holiday in your range.

Why does my result date differ from what my bank or contract says?

Some contracts count 90 days instead of 3 calendar months. Others use 30-day months. This tool uses calendar months with month-end rollback. Always check the wording in your agreement.

What is the holiday proximity notice?

A blue box that appears when your result date lands on or within 3 days of a US federal holiday. It helps you spot closed offices, slow mail, or shipping delays near your deadline.

Can I count backward to a past date?

Yes. Set Direction to "Before." The tool moves back in time and still shows day counts, business days, and a mini calendar for the past date.

What is the biggest number I can enter?

    999. That works with any unit, so you can go up to 999 years. Enter 0 to get the start date back.

Why do I need the ±5 days table?

It shows what happens if your start date shifts a little. This is useful when a signing date, shipping date, or appointment might move by a day or two.

What does the 1–30 months table show?

Every result date from 1 month up to 30 months from your start date. Your current answer is highlighted. Rows that needed a month-end fix are labeled.

What is the week number in the result details?

It is the ISO 8601 week of the year, where weeks start on Monday. Many companies use week numbers for planning, payroll, and reports.

Does daylight saving time change my result?

No. The date math uses whole calendar days, so clock changes in spring and fall do not shift the result date.

Is 3 months the same as one quarter?

Yes in length, but not always in dates. A quarter follows fixed blocks like January–March. Three months from today starts on your own date, so it may cross two quarters.
